Children's Portrait Artist

I am absolutely in awe of the images of Lorna Freytag! Lorna has beautifully captured the essence of childhood with storybook like images.

Lorna creates her portraits by fusing together her love for photography, illustration and children's stories. She uses her many ideas, scribbled sketchbooks, digital camera and self taught post-production techniques to bring her ideas to life.
Inspired by old fairytales and magical landscapes, each image is created entirely by Lorna from the first rough sketch to the final detailed retouching. You can pick  an existing background from her collections or have her create something bespoke.

Originally from Scotland, Lorna has worked as a photographer in New York, Dubai, Sydney and London. She is now living in Edinburgh and applies her unique and quirky style to editorial and commercial projects contributing to publications such Junior, Collezioni and Studio Bambini. She has also completed projects for Harrods and several exclusive children’s boutiques. Besides her editorial assignments she accepts portrait commissions in London and abroad and has just  illustrated her first childrens book “Wild Child” (due out early 2012).

What I would give to have known Lorna when my own children were small! Lorna is willing to travel to the US for exclusive group bookings. Check out her images below and her website at:

Nursery and Decor Trend Predictions for 2011

Two years in a row I've been asked by to make my predictions for nursery and kids' color trends for the new year. I follow the fashion and design scene closely throughout the year and try my best to keep on top of the current and upcoming trends. So I've decided that this year, I'll not only forecast color trends for the nursery, but popular patterns, furniture and other trends that I believe will be strong in 2011.

Visit Home Workshop now to read the predictions and to share any thoughts you might have on the current trends!

Wishing each of you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!
