For those of you just tuning in...I met with this Mama-to-Be about two months ago. She didn't want to know the gender of her baby, but wanted a beautiful nursery that would be gender specific. What a dilemma! So she contacted Jack and Jill Interiors for help. We sat down for our consultation and planned TWO nurseries. One for a boy, and one for a girl that would tickle Mom's fancy either way. Then two weeks later, she went in for a sonogram. The doctor snapped a sonogram pic for me and wrote down the baby's gender on a piece of paper and sealed it up and sent it off to our studio. I couldn't wait to receive that envelope and get to work designing this baby's nursery! Once I knew the baby's gender, I got busy ordering all of the gender specific goodies and staging them here in our studio. (We can barely move around here, folks! Boxes of beautiful things are EVERYWHERE!) Tomorrow the furniture is being delivered so we're kicking Mama out of the house and getting down to business. We'll do our decorative painting, steam and hang curtains, accessorize the room, install the bedding, and when we're all done, we'll lock the door behind us. When Mama-to-Be comes home from the hospital with her new baby, she will see her finished nursery.

Gender Surprise Nursery Installation is TOMORROW!
Is it a BOY or a GIRL? I won't tell! But I will tell you this much...we are leaving the studio at the crack of dawn to head to NJ for our final install of the GENDER SURPRISE NURSERY we've been talking about! This room is TO DIE FOR and we promise to share pics as soon as Mama meets her baby and the gender is revealed.

$10K Military Nursery Give Away- Reveal!
This past spring, Mary Bauer of Bratt Decor and I decided to team up to show our love and support for our troops by giving away a $10K dream nursery makeover to a deserving service man or woman. Just in time for Memorial Day, we put out a call for nominations and received some wonderful video clips featuring men and women who sacrifice for our freedom daily.
We chose Carlos and Marlene Altamirano as our winners. Their friends put together such a beautiful video clip describing this wonderful couple and we couldn't wait to begin working on their nursery!
We were also touched by the generous donations of nursery products from our friends in the children's industry.
Doodlefish Kids donated the ivory rug, Charn and Company donated the nursery chandelier, Stacie Dale donated a beautiful memory keepsake box, Olena Boyko designed and donated the nursery curtains, moses basket and sweet bunny, Dimples and Dandelions designed and donated the plush nursery glider rocker by Angel Song and Bratt Decor donated the beautiful iron crib, changing table and bedding. Jack and Jill Interiors interviewed the couple to determine their design style and helped to select and coordinate the nursery products and paints. We then provided floor plans and storyboards for the couple so they could see their nursery come to life while they awaited the arrival of their furnishings. Thank you so much to our generous donors!
We are very pleased with the way this nursery came together to create a warm and serene environment for their baby boy, Carlos Altamirano who was born on September 3rd.
